Terry Whitt Bailey, Director of the Madame Walker Theater came to Afternoons with Amos addressing the subject of air, or rather the lack of it at the historic theater. The air conditioning system of the historic building has failed. Bailey says temporary repairs are being made, but that hundreds of thousands of dollars must be raised for a permanent repair and overhaul of the air conditioning and electrical systems. Bailey appealed to the community for help and listeners began to respond. Also in the interview, a near northside neighborhood talks about a grassroots memorial built to honor four youngsters who died in a fire several years ago. Hear both interviews above.
