In an exclusive, first time interview on Indianapolis radio and media Afternoons with Amos featured an intimate interview with Cathy Hughes, Founder and Board Chair of Radio One. Hughes was in Indy for the Centennial Convention of Kappa Alpha Psi. It was the first meeting of Indiana Broadcast Hall of Famer Amos Brown and National Broadcasting Hall of Famer Cathy Hughes. In the far ranging interview,  (which you can click above and which included legendary broadcaster Dyana Williams of sister station WRNB/Philadelphia) Cathy Hughes was passionate on a number of subjects.

  • Her love and devotion for the Piney Woods School, the legendary Black boarding school once run by Hughes’ grandfather.
  • Her new website Christian5timers.com devoted to get Christians to pray for peace five times daily.
  • Her work as Chair of the Small Business Administration’s Council on Underserved Communities, working to help SBA improve to strengthen small businesses and provide assistance to entrepeneurs of color.
  • Her passion for Black radio and Black media, including Gospel, which is continually undervalued by major advertisers.
