Man arrested over improper activity with a minor

(Danville) – A man recently arrested on felony sex charges involving a 15-year-old boy may have violated other teens. Nicholas Blinn, 25, was charged last week with three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor and one count of vicarious sexual gratification. Blinn told authorities he regularly scans Craigslist to arrange sexual encounters with males, but authorities think these meetings may involve minors and think Blinn may have molested boys in Boone, Hamilton, Hendricks and Marion counties. Authorities are requesting anyone with information to call them at 317-839-8700.

Officer on suspension re-arrested

(Indianapolis) – An IMPD officer currently on suspension without pay while awaiting a merit board hearing for a previous DUI charge was taken into custody this week. Officer David Dinsmore was arrested around 11 p.m. Tuesday night in Johnson County after a motorist reported him driving erratically and without his headlights on. Johnson County police records indicate Dinsmore told officers he took prescription sleeping medication before getting behind the wheel. He failed sobriety tests at the scene and was charged with public intoxication and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.  Dinsmore was arrested in November of 2010 for crashing his squad car while off duty. It was that incident which resulted in the unpaid suspension pending a termination hearing with the merit board.

Electronic company owner charged with theft

(Indianapolis) –  A former co-owner of an electronic monitoring company with contracts with the Marion County Community Corrections Agency has been charged with two felony counts of theft.  Sylvester Coleman, 57, previously employed by Electronic Monitoring Services, had been placed on administrative leave last May after accusations arose that he had stolen from the company. According to court documents, Coleman used a company credit card to make more than 50 transactions at area gas stations to pay for gas for his private car and two other vehicles owned by his wife. Prosecutors said $3400 in unauthorized charges were conducted from July to October when Coleman was fired. Investigators say they have proof of the transactions from surveillance camera videotape.

(LaGrange County) – A recreational vehicle company announced Wednesday of its plans to bring jobs to the northern part of the state. Indiana Crossroads RV says it will spend $3.9 million to build a new 93,000 square-foot facility resulting in the creation of 250 jobs by 2014. Currently 600 workers build fifth-wheel and towable recreational vehicles at factories in Topeka and Syracuse. A company official says the new factory should open in June.

Infrastructure development project outlined

(Greenwood) – Construction is scheduled to begin in 2014 for a new I-65 interchange eventually linking to a road joining two other highways in the outlying southern areas of Indianapolis.  The site about 10 miles south of I-465 will be the third interchange connecting Greenwood with I-65.  According to the Daily Journal, the new interchange will merge with plans for an east-west corridor to carry traffic from Interstate 74 in Shelby County to the route of the future I-69 extension in western Johnson County. Greenwood will foot the bill for half of the estimated $22 million cost using revenue from a special taxing district for infrastructure projects. The remainder will be covered by the state highway department. The city will give the state a $2 million down payment in the coming months. The remaining $9 million will be paid when the state acquires a contractor.

Hearing date set after judge’s ruling

(Indianapolis) – A judge has delayed a hearing sought by Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White in his bid to remain in office. It was last week that a judge ruled that White was ineligible for the office because he lied on 2010 voting registration documents and called for the removal of White from office. Marion Circuit Court Judge Louis Rosenberg has scheduled the hearing for January 3 after a request from White’s attorney expressed concerns about the original date of December 29 falling during the holiday season. White faces voter fraud and criminal charges over voting from his ex-wife’s address in the 2010 primary.
