“I Am The Far Eastside”. That’s the bold rallying cry for the neighborhood of 40,000 on Indy’s far Eastside.  A coalition of residents of the neighborhoods bounded by Shadeland Avenue, 30th Street, Pendleton Pike and the Hancock County border have come together to develop a comprehensive plan to improve their neighborhoods they’ve called the Far Eastside Quality of Life Plan.  Far Eastside Leaders came to Afternoons with Amos to tell the entire city and area about their efforts. Joining Amos were Melissa Drew, Exec Director of the Community Alliance of the far Eastside, State Sen. Jean Breaux, Pastor James Jackson of Fervent Prayer Church, Charles Ingram of the City of Indianapolis, Kim Bostic of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and Lakeshia Jackson of Pathways Resources.  They discussed the group’s plans which focuses on six improvement areas: Youth & Educatio0n, Resident Engagement, Crime & Safety, Economic Development, Aesthetics & Beautification, Housing, Health and Transportation.
