Indiana’s Department of Child Services (DCS) has been bitterly criticized in recent years. By parents, foster parents, by the states newspapers, notably the Indianapolis Star and by many in the community.  Now the Democratic candidates for Governor John Gregg and Lt. Governor Vi Simpson promise that if elected they will make major changes in DCS.  Starting with spending the dollars the Legislature allocated to DCS to provide services for Indiana’s youth in trouble and in need.  Appearing on Afternoons with Amos, Simpson outlined what Gregg and she would do if elected to keep children entrusted to DCS safe and to operate in “the best interests” of Hoosier children.
