With the refusal of Mayor Greg Ballard to speak to the Black community through Black media about the biggest budget crisis to Indianapolis in decades, City-County Council President Maggie Lewis appeared on Afternoons with Amos doing what Mayor Ballard refuses to do. Answer Indianapolis residents questions and concerns about Indy’s 2013 deficit ridden budget.Joined by Councilman Joe Simpson, Lewis talked with about the budget crisis saying no solution or idea “is off the table”. Simpson revealed that he’s  asked the Indiana State Board of Accounts to investigate the city’s failure to provide monthly financial statements on the city and county’s fiscal condition. Documents required by law to be released. President Simpson and Lewis also addressed listeners questions and concerns. And expressed frustrations with Mayor Ballard’s continued refusal to get engaged in the growing crisis and the city’s projected $65 million deficit.
