Rodnie Bryant is a legend in his own right….National recording artist from Indianapolis! Rodnie and friends are saluting Gospel Legends Monday November 12, 2012 at Crispus Attucks 7pm.
Here are some of the people being honored:
- Rev. Melvin B. Girton – Pastor of Christ Missionary Baptist Church. He is the pastor with the longest reign in the pulpit. Original singer with Ms. Beatrice Brown “Without God I could Nothing”
- Rev. Curtis Vance – Pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, has been singing all of his life with family, quartets, etc. Burned mortgage many years in advance and has been a major blessing to the East side community and city for many decades.
- Ms Willie Martin – Member of her son’s church The Sanctuary Church and has devoted her life to singing God’s praises for Decades. Starting at Zion Hill Baptist church, Al Hobbs and Indy Mass, Rodnie Bryant and CCMC, Ms Martin with her soulful Alto voice has blessed so many across this nation.
- Mr. M. L. Allen – Member of First Samuel Church one the first black voices on radio and as we know him as M. L. Allen and Magic. He and his Lead Guitar “Magic” have blessed us over many years and surely many to come.
- Ms. Carolyn “Nanna” Bryant – Member of Mt. Olive Baptist church. Was a powerful “Red Headed” choir director for many years at the Messiah Missionary Baptist Church. A choir director, song writer, singer. Ms Bryant with those Magical arms lead choirs in music for many decades
- Apostle William Payne – Pastor of Universal Ministries Worldwide Ministries here in Indianapolis. He’s known as the “Soulful Church” and “The Prophet” next to none. His ability as God has given him to take you into you future and destiny. Apostle who has a singing church gets your soul ready for Heaven.
- Ms. Ruth Motley – Member of Living Water, has been a major choir director for decades. “Ruthie” as we call her has and unbelievable abilities with choirs and singers will be noted for years to come. She works at the church and with Upon this Rock. Ruthie has been and inspiration to choir directors.
