David Bisard Arrested for Saturday DUI

In trouble again, Suspended IMPD Officer David Bisard is in jail This Morning after a weekend a drunk driving accident where Bisard had a blood alcohol content of more than twice the legal limit.

This happened in Lawrence where crashed his truck, striking a pole, guardrail and sign Saturday afternoon.

You’ll remember Bisard is already facing charges from a 2010 alcohol-related crash that killed motorcyclist Eric Wells, and injured two others.

Bisard is back at the Marion County Jail on a $25,000. He will make his first court appearance on the newest charges against him, on Wednesday.

 

IMPD Involved in Weekend Shooting

IMPD was allegedly involved in a shooting on the city’s east side early Sunday afternoon.

Police said, Officers were called to the 4800 block of East 19th Street on a domestic disturbance between a man and woman.

Officials said a woman told officers that there was a man in her apartment with a gun and had threatened to kill her.

Police entered the apartment and found the suspect pointing a gun at the female, and fearing for her life, one of the officers fired his gun, hitting the suspect in his lower body.

The man was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital in serious condition. No other injuries were reported.

 

Driver Flips Car in Early Morning Crash

A driver was hospitalized in serious condition early this morning after his car flipped several times before landing on its side against a tree, in a crash on the city’s northwest side.

Dispatchers said the crash happened about 3 a.m. near 79th Street and Township Line Road when the driver, identified as 37 year old Abraham Morales, lost control of his car.

Investigators said Morales’ car flipped several times before landing on its side against a tree.

Detectives said Morales appeared to be impaired at the time of the crash.
