Man Sentenced To Three Years in Death of Lala Draughon

An Indianapolis man has been sentenced to three years in prison for his role in the 2012 shooting death of former high school basketball star Larretha “Lala” Draughon.

26 year old, Trey Bebley, who was initially charged with murder, pled guilty to criminal recklessness, a class C felony in the 22 year old’s death.

Draughon was fatally wounded when gunfire broke out during a prearranged fist-fight between two women.

 

IMPD Responds To Two Overnight Shootings

IMPD officers were called to 4205 E. Naomi St. at 3 am. this morning, after reports of a gunshot. Homicide detectives were called to the scene, where the victim was pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim is unknown at this time, at this hour.

A second fatal shooting occurred this morning on the south side of the city.

Police were called to the area of Southport and Shelbyville Road, at around 4:45 this morning. Homicide detectives also pronounced that victim dead at the scene.

 

Property Crime Down In Indianapolis

Property crime is on the decline in Indianapolis.  IMPD says the southeast district has seen the biggest drop at 19-percent, but all six districts have had fewer reports of burglaries, vehicle thefts and arsons this year.  Strong neighborhood watch groups and police strategies are being credited for the decrease.

 

Woman Arrested In Undercover Prostitution Sting

A woman in Fishers was arrested on a charge of prostitution Tuesday.

Undercover officer went into Relax Spa near 116th Street and Allisonville Road.

The 56-year-old woman, agreed to provide the undercover officer with sex in exchange for payment.

Authorities had been getting complaints about the business which launched the investigation.
