Award-winning journalist Roland S. Martin is about to inaugurate a media first. The country’s first daily TV news broadcast aimed at African-Americans.  It’s News One Now on TV One every weekday at 9am Indianapolis time.  I talked with Roland about the new broadcast and what viewers and listeners can expect from this five day a week broadcast on TV One.  For those who don’t know, Roland Martin has been an experienced journalist, writer, columnist, commentator, newspaper editor and publisher and radio talk show host.  A two-time NAACP Image Award winner and recipient of top honors from NABJ, Roland Martin’s commentaries on CNN earned him national acclaim as do his weekly commentaries on the Tom Joyner Morning Show.  For several years, Roland Martin brought color to Sunday morning TV with TV One’s Washington Watch.  Roland Martin is a prolific user of social media.  His Twitter account @RolandSMartin has some 243,000 followers. News One Now, according to Martin, will bring the issues and voices behind the issues in Black America to the forefront every morning. A passionate sports fan for his beloved alma mater Texas A&M, in our interview Roland Martin talked a little trash about his beloved Houston Oilers meeting our Indianapolis Colts. Our interview talked much more about the goals of News One NowClick the Arrow to Hear my Exclusive interview with Roland Martin. Runs 13 Minutes ©2013 WTLC/Radio One.
