As temperatures in the Indianapolis metro area take a dive to sub-zero lows Monday, that the city hasn’t experienced for decades, more than 30,000 Hoosiers are without power. Indianapolis Power & Light and Duke Energy are working to restore energy to homes however officials say it may take days to restore it. This is creating a dangerous extreme temperature situation in some homes. So Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard is asking residents to take shelter at one of the area warming centers or the Red Cross in downtown Indy. Despite the hours listed, city officials say the shelters will remain open as long as they need to be open. Find the list [HERE].
