diane ravitchDr. Diane Ravitch is a respected educator, teacher and professor at New York University.  The author of 10 books and editor of 14 more, Ravitch has had a distinguished career which included serving as Assistant Secretary of Education under President George H.W. Bush.  But today, Ravitch has become of fiercest and most public critics of education reform today – especially charter schools and what she feels is the corporatization of public education. Ravitch also bitterly criticizes school choice and school vouchers.  She visited Indiana for a panel discussion at the premiere of a new documentary, filmed and produced in Indiana that attacks education reform under former Governor Mitch Daniels and Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Tony Bennett.  The film, Rise Above The Mark, played to a packed house at Clowes Hall, followed by the panel discussion where Ravitch took on education reform supporters like  The Mind Trust in a no holds barred discussion. Afternoons with Amos caught up with Dr. Ravitch backstage at Clowes for an exclusive interview with one of the most outspoken critics of the education reform movement.  Click the Arrow to Hear Amos’ Interview with Dr. Diane Ravitch.
