Vernon Brown

Vernon Brown has been a member of the Indianapolis City-County Council since 2003, including serving four years as the Council’s Majority Leader.  The Warren Township Democrat and Indianapolis firefighter has been a strong fighter for minority inclusion, common sense government and being a good steward of residents tax dollars.  A new state law that prohibits city employees from serving on the governing boards of that city is causing Brown to leave before his term is up next year.  Brown is the Democratic candidate for Warren Township Trustee in November’s election.  In his final appearance on Afternoons with Amos as a Councilman, Brown talked about the impasse between Mayor Greg Ballard and Council Democrats on funding repairs to neighborhood streets and sidewalks.  Councilman Brown also talked about that controversial cricket stadium the Mayor and City built in Brown’s Township. Brown also talked with Amos and listeners about what he hopes to accomplish, if elected, as Warren Township Trustee.  Always straightforward and direct, Vernon Brown was always a breath of fresh air during his fourteen years on the Council.  Hear for yourself when you Click the Media Player for Councilman Vernon Brown’s Interview With Amos.
