In happier times. Alex Hobbs (L) with one of his sisters Asha and Al “The Bishop” Hobbs (R)

It is with deep regret and sadness that we must report very special tragedy. Alex C. Hobbs, son of the late and beloved Al “The Bishop” Hobbs has died in very tragic circumstances.  Hobbs, an officer in the United States Army stationed in Norfolk, Virginia was found dead in his apartment Thursday evening (August 28th) with an apparent gunshot.  Police were called to the scene of Hobbs’ apartment in the Breezy Point complex, near the famed Norfolk Naval Base.  Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.  Norfolk police say this was an “undetermined death” and they are “not searching for any suspects at this time”. The Medical Examiner in Norfolk will determine an official cause of death next week.  It was just less than a month ago that young Hobbs, 25, lost his father the legendary WTLC Broadcaster and major force in the Gospel Music Workshop, Gospel Announcers Guild and Gospel Music in the country and worldwide. Al Hobbs was Laid to Rest August 16.  Now another tragedy has visited the Hobbs Family.  On Behalf of AM1310 The Light and the Radio One Indianapolis Family, our deepest condolences and sympathy to Alex Hobbs’ sisters Asha and Bridgett and the rest of the family.  Arrangement for Alex C. Hobbs have not been set.
