At about 10:25 p.m. Saturday, a driver wrecked his car on the 101st, flipping the vehicle.

Aaron McCain, known as “Canon,” a Christian rapper from Atlanta, and his manager, Brandon Mason, had just finished performing a concert at Faith Mission Ministries on Fort Campbell Boulevard and were on their way to dinner.

They saw the wreck and pulled over to help.

Close family friend Jacob Maikish, who is also the CEO of Reflection Music Group, the record label McCain is signed to, said McCain and Mason tried to help the driver get out of the wrecked car. But the driver was in a daze and tried to start the ignition.

“There was gas everywhere, so they took off running to get away from the car. Aaron went over the rail, thinking it was a median in between,” Maikish said.
