It’s official… LIFETIME’s Whitney biopic was a huge success. The movie aired on Saturday, January 17.
LIFETIME devoted their entire Saturday lineup to programming about Whitney Houston’s legacy. The evening began with Angela Bassett’s directorol debut of “Whitney.” After the movie followed two hour-long specials called “Bobby Brown: Remembering Whitney” and “Whitney Houston Live: Her Greatest Performances.” All three shows garnered 11.8 million total viewers, according to Nielson Fast Cable Ratings.
Although the ratings prove that many people want to watch stories about Whitney Houston, her family was very critical of the TV movie.
