So many Americans look forward to and trust the main anchor of the very popular NBC TV newscast “Nightly News.” But, for the next six months they’ll be watching Lester Holt instead of Brian Williams.
NBC suspended Williams for six months without pay for lying about being shot at in a helicopter.
NBC News president Deborah Turness released a statement saying, “This was a very hard decision. Certainly there will be those who disagree. But we believe this suspension is the appropriate and proportionate action.”
She added the decision to suspend and not fire Williams was because of the good work he’s done for 22 years.
