Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton Speaking On Race

The Wednesday, April 29th, 2015 Edition of Afternoons with Amos presented the community and listeners with another exclusive.  That morning, Hilary Clinton gave her first major policy speech since officially announcing she was running for President.  The speech dealt with race, police, police community relations, the problems and conditions African-American young men face in this country.  When I got word of the Clinton speech and the themes she said, I knew I had to share her words and thoughts with our community – uncut and unedited.  The former Secretary of State, First Lady and New York Senator spoke at Columbia University, at the David Dinkins Leadership and Public Policy Forum held as part of Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs.  Mrs. Clinton’s speech can best be described as a blunt assessment of race relations in this country as she called for an overhaul of the criminal justice system and starkly presented sobering statistics about the plight of young Black men in America juxtaposed posed with recent tragic deaths of young Blacks at the hands of police. Hear Hillary Clinton’s remarks on race, as Afternoons with Amos presented them at the 33:35 mark on the Media Player Below.  The Wednesday Afternoons with Amos also had the folks from Tindley Schools stopping by.  They launching their sixth Tindley school – Tindley Genesis – a school for kindergarten to 3rd grade beginning in August.  The school will have Tindley’s strong no nonsense academic standards, but it have a focus on music and use of music to help children learn and succeed.
