Vanessa Williams made history when she became the first black woman to be crowned Miss America in 1984. But, her victory was soon flanked by scandal after nude photos of her were released. The public backlash forced Williams to resign.
Williams didn’t let that incident define her, she went on to become an international acclaimed singer and actress. And, 32 years later she scheduled to return to the Miss America pageant for the first time as a judge.
