Ratings for the wildly popular Fox TV show Empire have reached new highs every single episode, until now.

Following its airing of a joke about ex-gay gospel singer Donnie McClurkin’s sexuality, three million viewers—Poof!—vanished.

And Donnie McClurkin fans laughed.

No one can say for certain why the over-the-top program’s ratings dipped from 16 million viewers for the Sept. 23 season premiere, to 13.7 million viewers last Wednesday.

Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped some Christian fans of three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning McClurkin and non-fans of “Empire,” from relishing the moment—for now, at least.

Those viewers said, “Bye, Felicia.”
