Rapper T.I. went on “The Whoolywood Shuffle” radio show a few days ago to promote a his latest EP.  Things probably didn’t quite go the way T.I. had planned, as he put his foot in his mouth when he was asked who he would be voting for in the 2016 election.

T.I. stated, “Not to be sexist, but I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman…just because, every other position that exists, I think a woman could do well.  Every other position.  But president?  It’s kind of like, I just know that women make rash decisions emotionally, and they make very permanent, cemented decisions — and then later, it’s kind of like it didn’t happen, or they didn’t mean for it to happen…and I sure would hate to just set off a nuke.  [Leaders of other nations] will not be able to negotiate the right kinds of foreign policy.”  As if that wasn’t enough, T.I. added, “The world ain’t ready yet…I think you might be able to get the Lochness Monster elected before you could [get a woman elected president].”

After receiving loads of backlash for his sexist comments, T.I. took to Twitter to apologize with the following tweet:

His attempted apology has sparked quite the debate from his followers.  Many are replying back to his tweet with their own opinions.  Is he really sorry for his comments, or is this just a PR stunt to get him out of hot water with his female fans, and get him out of the press?
