Kobe Bryant announced last night that he has decided to make this season his last.  He wrote a beautiful poem titled, Dear Basketball, where he describes his love for the game.  In the poem he wrote, “I’m ready to let you go.  I want you to know now so we both can savor every moment we have left together.”

Bryant entered into the NBA after he graduated high school in 1996, where he played with the Los Angeles Lakers for his entire career.  He has been with the Lakers for 20 seasons, and he holds the record for most seasons with the same team.  The 17-time All-Star is a 5 time NBA champion, just one championship shy of matching Michael Jordan.
