Tyscot Records Caps A “STELLAR” YEAR

With 19 Stellar Gospel Music Award Nominations,

A Grammy NOD and Accolades in Billboard Magazine

 

Indianapolis, IN — Tyscot Records has closed the book on one of the most successful years ever in its forty-year existence. It’s reigning star Anthony Brown & group therAPy’s radio smash “Worth” has sold over 100,000 digital downloads while Casey J’s worship hymn “Fill Me Up” has been downloaded over 50,000 times.

 

The company has now earned nineteen Stellar Gospel Music Award nominations for four projects released within the last voting eligibility year. Anthony Brown & group therAPy pulled ten nominations including Song of the Year for “Worth” which has spent 17 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Gospel AirPlay chart. Other Tyscot artist projects such as Casey J’s “The Truth” (Four nods including New Artist of the Year), The Rance Allen Group’s “Celebrate” (Four thumbs up) and Lonnie Hunter & Structure’s “GETITDONE”  (one for Traditional Choir of the Year) also earned nominations. The 31st annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards take place February 20, 2016 at The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

Moreover, Billboard Magazine, the iconic music industry trade publication, has named Tyscot in several year-end achievement lists in its December 19th issue.

The firm was ranked as the #5 Top Gospel Label of the Year.  Thanks to the #1 anthem “Fill Me Up” and the Top Ten hit “I’m Yours” Casey J was crowned the #1 Gospel AirPlay artist of the year while Anthony Brown & group therAPy took the #9 slot.  On the year-end Gospel Streaming Songs chart “Fill Me Up” held the #5 spot. Anthony Brown & group therAPy’s “Worth” reached #9, Casey J’s “I’m Yours” rose to #31 and the Rance Allen Group’s “A Lil’ Louder (Clap Your Hands)” hit #48.

Currently, Tyscot is poised for another great year in 2016 as Anthony Brown & Group therAPy’s “Worth” is up for a Grammy Award nomination as Best Gospel Performance/Song (winners will be announced February 15, 2016) and Casey J’s sophomore radio single “I’m Yours” holds its own at #6 on the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart as Lonnie Hunter & Structure’s bouncy “He’s Worthy” makes its Top 30 debut. Also, an anthology entitled “Feel Good! – 40 Years of Life Changing Music” celebrating Tyscot’s four decades of hits is in the works and is scheduled to be released later this year as well.
