The never shy Chrissy Teigen has been extremely open about her pregnancy.  It is no secret that getting pregnant didn’t come easy for Teigen, as she recently confessed she was giving herself in vitro fertilization shots while she was on set of her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit shoot.  She recently sat down with People Magazine and spoke about why she chose to have a girl.

Teigen told People that she chose the sex of her and husband John Legend’s baby.  Teigen said, “Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl.'”

Teigen explains that a man changes when he has a daughter, and she wanted Legend to experience that.  Teigen said, “How soft they get, how mushy, and excited they get. It’s so cute!”  She continued, “I think I was most excited and allured by the fact that John would be the best father to a little girl. That excited me.  It excited me to see … just the thought of seeing him with a little girl.  I think he deserves a little girl.  I think he deserves that bond.  A boy will come along.  We’ll get there too, so it’s not like we really have to pick.  But he definitely is very lucky to have a little girl.  And this girl is going to be so completely lucky to have John as her papa — it’s crazy!”

Teigen knows parents hate the comparison of pets to children, but she believes Legend will be a good father based on how he interacts with their dogs.

Twitter reacted to the People interview, and some voiced some not so nice opinions.  One twitter user slammed Teigen for going through the IVF process instead of adopting.  The tweeted bashing Teigen said, “Maybe you weren’t supposed to have kids since there is so many kids without parents, and since you have money you can adopt and provide for two or three kids.”  Teigen responded to the user’s tweets stating, “Natural or IVF, my daughter will never speak to another human like this.”

Teigen’s interview with People came just a day after the release of her cookbook, Cravings.  You can read more on the story here.
