Juneteenth at the Eiteljorg
Celebrate Juneteenth at the Eiteljorg with music, performances, demonstrations, food and fun for the entire family. Juneteenth, or Freedom Day, is a holiday commemorating the announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas in June 1865, and more generally the emancipation of African Americans in the Confederate South. Join the celebration and explore what freedom means to you and your family, chat with community partners, learn to trace your family history, help create a community mural, and so much more. Museum admission will be free for all on June 18, 2016.
