Kelly Price has been slammed on social media for performing “As We Lay” over the weekend at the We Love Music Conference at Indiana Black Expo. IBE has issued a statement on the matter explaining that Price’s performance was supposed to take place before the Gospel Explosion, and a scheduling mix up had occurred. After her performance was deemed inappropriate by attendees who were there for the Gospel Explosion portion of the event, Price took to social media to explain the mix up.
Tasha Page Lockhart took to Instagram to defend Price, explaining that she had no idea she was performing during the gospel portion of the show.
IBE and Rico Love have since issued statements on behalf of Price thanking her for performing, and clarifying the situation. Check out the statements below.
