MLK Widow Coretta Scott King Dies At 78

What started as an attempt to energize events for singles at historic  – Ebenezer Baptist Church by adding an environmental element, such as hikes and participating in a climate change march – has turned into the church’s Creation Care Ministry.

“I was trying to make the singles ministry more robust and fun,” said Garry Harris, who leads the singles ministry. “I added an environmental component to the singles ministry. So I had folks holding hands in the woods.”

In just one year, the Creation Care Ministry completed 22 projects around the themes of water conservation, energy conservation, and environmental policy and advocacy.
