Today, Twitter officially rolled out its planned changes on how it counts 140 characters. Twitter is no longer counting media as part of the 140 characters, so you can tweet even longer tweets while attaching a video, image, or GIF.
This may not mean anything to you, but if you are an avid tweeter, the changes will give you more space to compose your tweets. The company has considered extending the number of maximum characters before, but ultimately chose to keep the 140 character limit.
