What’s going on in Indy this weekend Oct. 1- 2.

Red Bull Air Race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Keep your eyes on the skies this weekend to see the world’s most elite pilots soar above IMS in the first air race there since 1909. Watch practice and qualifying on Saturday, then see speeds of nearly 230 mph during the final races Sunday. There’s also plenty of action on the ground with slacklining, BMX, and Moto demos both days. Tickets are $25-$85.

Evermore Music Festival

Indy is fast becoming a destination for music festivals and American Legion Mall hosts this new one Friday-Sunday. More than 35 bands with eclectic styles will add to the atmosphere of art and beauty in this downtown space. Food trucks and drink vendors will be at your service. Headliners include Prismo, Atlas Genius, and Guster (pictured). Tickets are $24-$189.

Indiana Spirits – Bicentennial Birthday at Indiana State Museum

This annual Hoosier-themed cocktail party returns Saturday to celebrate Indiana’s Bicentennial in style. Taste beer, wine, food, and spirits all made in the state, play games like Scrabble, mingle with Hoosier characters, and dance to music from The Doo! Band. Also take time to visit the 200 Years and 200 Objects exhibits. Guests must be 21 or older and tickets are $70-$140.

Family Day – Harvest Festival

Celebrate the solstice and fall’s arrival Saturday at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. The family-friendly day includes pumpkin and gourd displays, hay rides, live music, storytelling, crafts, seasonal food, hot cocoa, and more. Come early to see the Cereal Cinema presentation ofCoraline. The festival is included with IMA general admission of $10-$18.
