Kelly Price made a surprising announcement on Instagram that left many confused. The Grammy-nominated singer announced that she will be singing the National Anthem for the upcoming boxing match between rapper Soulja Boy, and singer Chris Brown. Wait…WHAT?!
Price re-posted the above photo from rapper 50 Cent, who originally made the announcement. Price stated in the photo’s caption, “Looking forward to singing the National Anthem on fight night with @souljaboy and @chrisbrownofficial. Thank you @50cent for trusting me with this!”
Confused? Let’s back track a bit here. The feud between the rapper and singer stemmed from Soulja Boy “liking” a photo of Brown’s ex, Karrueche, on Instagram. The feud erupted into a full on social media war between the two. Now, they are planning to work things out in a pay-per-view boxing match. 50 Cent, Mike Tyson, and Floyd Mayweather have all said said they are involved in the match in some form or another.
According to TMZ, the fight can’t happen in the U.S., so the two are planning to face off in Dubai. No plans have been officially set in place, but it’s said that some of the proceeds from the fight will be given to charity.
