Spring Blooms – Celebration of Color at Indianapolis Museum of Art
Step outside the IMA through May 31 to see an ocean of color as 250,000 bulbs burst into bloom! A new garden path features daffodils, irises, tulips, hyacinths, pansies, rare Himalayan blue poppies, and more. Don’t miss the new Beer Garden for a Sun King exclusive, as well as other drinks and snacks. Spring Blooms is included with general admission of $10-$18.
Opening Weekend of the 2017 Outdoor Season at Conner Prairie
The outdoor areas are open, and it’s time to get close to new baby animals, meet the Prairietown residents, and help them get ready for spring. Climb to the top of the four-story Treetop Outpost nestled in the woods along the White River, help a soldier get ready to fight in the Civil War, and take a tethered balloon ride 370 feet high above the prairie. Admission is $12-$17.
Motown the Musical at Old National Centre
Broadway’s presentation of Motown founder Berry Gordy’s autobiography is a true tale of living the American dream. Energetic dance numbers and nonstop music from superstars like Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, and Michael Jackson tell the history of one of the most famous record labels in history. Tickets are $38 and up and the play closes Sunday.
Symphony in Color
Now in its 66th year, Symphony in Color reaches more than 30,000 Indiana students annually. Children in grades 1-6 listened to selected music from the current Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra season and then created their own visual interpretations of what they heard. See their work through May 7 at the Indiana State Museum. Admission is $8.50-$13.
