ReFormation Celebration @ Christian Theological Seminary
Apr 4 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
“During the 2017-18 academic year, Christian Theological Seminary commemorated two historically significant events: the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s posting his Ninety-Five Theses and the 50th year anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination. The Reformation and the Civil Rights Movement have indelibly shaped Protestant theology and its public witness. The seminary is committing to exploring the historical significance of these movements and their import for today’s leaders to imagine a future filled with hope.
Join us that evening to hear from students who have been part of the Re|Formation Experience provided by Christian Theological Seminary this academic year. This exciting opportunity commemorated two historically significant events – the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s posting his Ninety-Five Theses and the 50th year anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination – and dug deeply into how the Reformation and the Civil Rights Movement indelibly shaped the church and society. The seminary is committing to exploring the historical significance of these movements and their import for today’s leaders to imagine a future filled with hope.
The hors’dourves reception will begin at 6:30 PM and program at 7:00. Students will share how this experience is shaping their understanding of ministry and their formation as leaders in church and community. The evening will conclude with words from Martin Luther King’s final sermon.”
