About Dr. Valerie McCray:
“Dr. Valerie McCray is a unique choice for President of the United States of America. She is entering the presidential race “straight from the trenches” as a psychologist that has spent most of her career working in the aftermath of tragedy.
Dr. McCray accepts every opportunity to serve our men and women of the military. She has evaluated over a thousand men and women of the military suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain injuries from wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Gulf War, and Vietnam. She works with companies, in tandem with the Department of Veteran Affairs, that have as their goal to streamline the disability eligibility process so that our soldiers can reassemble their lives as much as possible.
Dr. McCray works with victims of violence and families that have lost their loved ones to violence. She treats children that have been displaced due to abuse and neglect, or that have parents struggling with drug addiction, are incarcerated, or that have died from violence or drug overdose.
Her Toughness of spirit is most evident with her work with incarcerated men and women. Dr. McCray has worked in over a dozen high-security prisons, one on one, with those who have created nightmares for thousands of people, including themselves. Dr. McCray works tirelessly to turn around youths that are on the verge of meeting these same disasters.
Despite being surrounded by tragedy, Dr. McCray embodies optimism and exudes a contagious excitement about the future of America. She respects science and research and looks forward to embracing new technology that promises to renew our sources of energy to that which is clean and sustainable. She strongly believes that by rebuilding our infrastructure and embracing technology, we will not only improve the health of the planet but will improve our quality of life beyond our wildest dreams.
Valerie McCray attended Indianapolis public schools. She is single with an adult son, Ryan. Dr. McCray earned her B.A., M.A., and PH.D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.”
