Marlon Wayans Teases ‘White Chicks’ Sequel: ‘I Think It’s Time’

Marlon Wayans is ready to revisit one of his most iconic roles.

The actor, who starred alongside his brother Shawn in the 2004 comedy White Chicks, recently revealed that he believes it’s time to bring back the beloved film for a sequel.

Appearing on Good Morning America, Marlon teased fans by saying,

“Hey, you know, I think it’s time. Let’s get Scary Movie 6 done, and then we’ll go and bring out White Chicks 2.”

The original White Chicks followed two FBI agents, played by the Wayans brothers, who go undercover as white women to stop a kidnapping plot.

The movie, known for its outrageous humor, gained a cult following and sparked memorable performances from the Wayans duo.

Despite mixed reactions when it was first released, the film has stood the test of time, with fans frequently asking the brothers about the possibility of a follow-up.

For Marlon, the demand for a White Chicks sequel is undeniable.

“Fans always ask, ‘When are you doing the sequel?’ They love that movie,”

he explained. With the excitement around the first film still palpable, it’s no surprise that the brothers are considering bringing the franchise back.

However, White Chicks has faced its share of controversy over the years, particularly regarding its use of racial and gender stereotypes.

The film’s portrayal of the brothers in whiteface has sparked discussions about cultural sensitivity.

Marlon himself has addressed the topic in the past, insisting that cancel culture should not hinder comedy.

He told Buzzfeed,

“I don’t know what planet we’re on, where you think people don’t need laughter, and that people need to be censored and cancelled.”

He also added that it was “sad” to see how society has evolved to a point where humor is sometimes seen as off-limits.

Marlon’s stance reflects his belief that comedy should remain a space for creative freedom, regardless of societal trends.

“I ain’t listening to these scared-a— people, these scared executives,”

he said, standing firm on his principles. With his passion for humor and resistance to cancel culture, Marlon is ready to bring the White Chicks brand back to the big screen.

In the meantime, Marlon and Shawn are focused on another project.

The brothers are currently working on Scary Movie 6, the latest installment in the Scary Movie series.

After helping develop the first two films in the franchise, the Wayans took a step back from the series when it was handed over to The Weinstein Company.

Reflecting on the departure, Marlon revealed in an interview with Kevin Hart on the Comedy Gold Minds podcast that the franchise was “snatched” away from them by the company, leaving them blindsided. “

We didn’t walk away from a franchise. They didn’t want to make our deal, and they snatched it,” he recalled.

As they prepare to reboot Scary Movie 6, Marlon is determined to continue his creative journey, stating, “Now watch what I create.”

He remains unbothered by the obstacles that have come his way, eager to prove his worth in the comedy world once again.
