Okay y’all, this one’s important — especially if you’re team turkey bacon.

Kraft Heinz Foods Company has issued a recall on nearly 368,000 pounds of fully cooked turkey bacon, specifically Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Original products, due to a possible listeria contamination. The bacon in question was produced between April and June of this year and has been distributed nationwide, so yes — it might be sitting in your fridge right now.

Now before you panic, there haven’t been any reported illnesses so far. But listeria is no joke — it can cause a serious infection called listeriosis, especially for older adults, pregnant women, and those with weaker immune systems. Symptoms can show up like fever, muscle aches, nausea, or worse.

Let’s keep it real — we all love a good turkey bacon breakfast, or maybe even a midnight snack. But this is the time to play it safe. If you’ve got any packs of Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Original, check the dates and packaging. When in doubt, throw it out.

And tell your people too — post it in the group chat, call your auntie, let grandma know. Sometimes, protecting our health starts right at home with the small stuff.

Food safety matters — and so does your peace of mind. Stay safe, Indy.
