NWS: Heat Advisory Goes into Effect Wednesday for Portions of Western Indiana

STATEWIDE–The National Weather Service is issuing a heat advisory for portions of western Indiana. That will go into effect Wednesday from 2 through 8 pm EST.
“When we issue a heat advisory, that means we’re expecting to see heat index values at 105 or so,” said Andrew White, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.
White says there will also be an air quality advisory for the Indianapolis area and points east of there.
“We’re expecting some high levels of ozone near the surface, which could cause issues for people who are sensitive and have air quality issues,” said White.
He doesn’t expect rain to fall again until Thursday night in Indiana.
“Warm temperatures are going to last through the rest of the week. Right now, it looks like Thursday is going to be the hottest day for Indiana. Especially if we don’t get any rain until later in the day on Friday, we could have multiple days of 90-degree temperatures into the early portions of the weekend,” said White.
