Hebrews 4:16 Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy (for our failures) and find grace to help in good time for every need (appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it).
Words for the Day: Approach God’s Throne
What a great High Priest we have in Jesus. He understands our experience, and He knows what it is like to live in a human body. He positioned Himself to go through the same kind of temptations we do, but He didn’t give in to them.
He knows that the tempter lies in wait for us, and he knows we need His mercy and strength. We still fall short even when we have the best intentions to do good. God tells us to receive, not strive to get, but just to receive new mercy for each day.
Take that and run with it!
