The Indianapolis Colts have added three more undrafted free agents to the team’s offseason roster, including one with a Wabash Valley connection.

While the Colts aren’t slated to make their complete list of undrafted free agents official until sometime today or tomorrow, Indianapolis has signed former Indiana State safety Donye McCleskey along with Fordham University offensive tackle Andrew Tyschovnytsky and William & Mary safety David Caldwell.

McCleskey was not selected in last weekend’s National Football League draft and had initially been invited to attend a try out with the New York Jets this weekend. According to Indiana State athletic department sources, however, he was offered a free agent contract by the Colts.

The Dayton, Ohio, native — who was rated as the 44th best strong safety available in the draft by Pro Football Weekly — posted 92 tackles (46 solo and 46 assisted), two interceptions and one sack in 11 games.

The three join 10 other undrafted free agents who reportedly reached deals with Indianapolis — quarterback Tim Hiller (Western Michigan), running back Javarris James (Miami), wide receiver Blair White (Michigan State), offensive tackle Jeff Linkenbach (Cincinnati), cornerback Thad Turner (Ohio), defensive back Mike Newton (Buffalo), kick returner Brandon James (Florida), placekicker Brett Swenson (Michigan State), cornerback Brandon King (Purdue) and linebacker Vuna Tuihalamaka (Arizona). Additional players could be added in the next couple of days.

McClesky would be the second former Indiana State player on the Colts’ offseason roster. Tight end Jamie Petrowski has been with the team the last two seasons.

Petrowski suffered a season-ending foot/ankle injury in Indianapolis’ final preseason game last fall and spent the year on the Colts’ injured reserve list. He underwent a pair of surgical procedures and appears to be making a good recovery.

The Colts will have a three-day mini-camp for the team’s rookies beginning on Friday at the West 56th Street complex in Indianapolis. All workouts will be closed to be public.

Indianapolis’ eight draft picks and undrafted free agents will go through the same drills and meetings that the veterans normally do during the spring organized team activity practices.
