There’s no accusation that Triece mistreated or otherwise engaged in inappropriate behavior that could put kids in danger. Despite volunteering at her children's school for five years, Triece has been told she is no longer welcome.

He wanted to see the FBI approach the Day case with the same attention and effort as the case of Gabby Petito. According to Rush, the attention and effort in the Petito case were appropriate, but other missing people deserve the same measures.

The new initiative comes as the Department of Justice reached a settlement against Trustmark for engaging in lending discrimination. An investigation found Trustmark engaged in unlawful redlining by avoiding Black and Latino neighborhoods in Memphis through lending and opening branches. Trustmark was also found to have sufficient internal policies to address the issues.

"We have had a number of issues with effective returns in criminal trials for reasons ranging from ingrained problems in our legal system that have to do with long histories of white supremacy, to all kinds of procedural problems that have derailed justice in one way or another," University of Chicago historian Kathleen Belew said in an interview with NPR. "Civil trials are a really good tool in hitting the pocketbooks and the membership lists of white power groups." 

"Facebook’s persistent actions to undermine content moderation are the latest evidence that Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook leadership will continue to sacrifice the safety of our communities to line their pockets."

Students at Howard University have been protesting horrible living conditions inside of some dorms on campus. Using the Twitter hashtag #BlackburnTakeover, organizers encouraged a sit-in at the Blackburn Center to bring attention to this housing crisis and demand change within the dorms.

This incident could've gone really wrong with the heavy police presence and a senior law enforcement veteran alleging his life was in danger. From news reports, Troyer lied and said Altheimer repeatedly threatened to kill him but later retracted his claim to an officer on the scene. 

Joining Howard students Tuesday afternoon in a show of solidarity, D.C. Ward 4 Councilmember Janeese Lewis George put the battle over housing conditions in the context of the greater issues for Black people across the District. George talked about the gentrification across the city but particularly around Howard, and the impact on the students.  

Fake vaccination cards have become an increasing issue with the enforcement of vaccine mandates and widespread misinformation about the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccinations.
