Don Cornelius’ “Soul Train” undoubtedly forever changed the scope of soul music. Today the show is an ubiquitous presence in music culture, and has solidified itself as an American phenomenon as the Smithsonian Museum will be the repository of some of the show’s memorabilia.

The outlandish fashions on garish display would change. The outrageous high Afros of of that time would soon disappear.
