On a recent episode of Community Connection, host Tina Cosby, Contributing Analyst, James Patterson, and producer, Eric Garnes discussed the latest weather updates and community news.

The episode kicked off with a warning about the Indiana State Fair, which was forced to close due to the volatile weather conditions. “We’ve got some volatile weather here,” said Tina Cosby, “with storms expected to arrive and a thunderstorm watch in effect.” The hosts also shared a personal anecdote about a tree falling on a house in North Vernon, killing a four-year-old child, highlighting the dangers of severe weather.

But the conversation quickly shifted to a more uplifting topic: the upcoming Cinema under the Stars event at New Horizons Church. Pastor Eric Wiggins explained that the event, sponsored by the church, aims to bring the community together for a fun and wholesome evening. “We want to have something good and wholesome for the community to engage with,” he said. “This movie night is a great way to do that.”

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Marion County, with heavy rain expected to cause flash flooding in the area. The hosts urged listeners to stay safe and avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary.

Today’s show also featured a special guest, Bishop C. Shawn Tyson, who was recently elected as the second Assistant Presiding Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. Tyson shared his thoughts on his new role and the importance of global evangelism and church growth.
