Tune into Facebook Thursday, Sept. 8 to watch and listen to a first-ever live chat by Oprah Winfrey on the social networking site.

The one-hour event starts at 1:30 p.m. PT/4:30 p.m. ET. If you want to ask the star questions, you can post them here, and go to Facebook Live’s page to watch the streaming video on Sept. 8.

The appearance also “coincides with Winfrey’s big tech industry meet-up at the home of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg with Twitter CEO Dick Costolo and other big names from the online world to figure out how to boost traffic to Winfrey’s faltering website, Oprah.com,” which has seen users decline since her TV show ended in May, notes The Hollywood Reporter. “Though Winfrey’s website showed a comScore rating of just 2.4 million unique users in July, her official Facebook page has nearly 6.3 million fans. The live chat is no doubt designed to drive some of those fans back to Oprah.com.”

Winfrey’s Twitter page, however, is going strong; she has 7.2 million followers on the short-messaging blog, and is the 12th most followed person in the world, according to Twitter Counter — behind Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, President Barack Obama, Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, Shakira, Taylor Swift, Ashton Kutcher, Ellen DeGeneres and Rihanna.
