In a wide ranging interview on Afternoons with Amos, the leadership of the Indianapolis City-County Council blasted the Ballard Administration for a lack of leadership on a number of issues. In their latest monthly appearance, Council President Maggie Lewis, Vice-President Brian Mahern and Majority Leader Vernon Brown said a major problem was the failure of Mayor Greg Ballard to provide detailed information to both the Council and the public on the condition of the city/county’s finances.  Said Lewis “We’re not trying to micromanage, but this is necessary information the Council needs in order to do its job”. Lewis, Mahern and Brown also talked about the search for a new Public Safety Director and the increasing crime in city neighborhoods.  They also discussed the role of TIF districts which divert property tax revenues to economic development projects. The Council leaders also discussed the condition of Indy’s Parks, infrastructure needs, ethics and took calls and comments from listeners and their concerns about City-County Government.
