A mother who lost her son to violence gave an emotional appeal to Afternoons with Amos listeners beseeching them that it was time for the Indianapolis community to come together to end violence. Sharon Dunston appeared with Amos to talk about her ordeal when her son was murdered late last year. Dunston and Rev. Byron Alston discussed a number of ways the community could end street violence. The ways included a “Mothers March” scheduled for Saturday June 9th at Broadway United Methodist Church.  Also discussed with Amos and listeners were that Indianapolis needs to make a renewed commitment, especially from religious leaders and political leaders, to come together to engage the community, engage youth to end and stop the violence.
