Two powerful, strong, dynamic, committed Democratic leaders, who happen to be women, appeared live on Afternoons with Amos to stress the critical issues facing voters this November.

Rep. Linda Lawson is the new leader of Democrats in the Indiana House. Lawson replaces Rep. Pat Bauer.  She talked boldly with Amos about defending and supporting public education and public schools, and about putting Hoosiers back to work. Lawson talked about the strengths of Democrats in the House and that it was time for them all “to work as a team”.

Meanwhile Democratic Lt. Gov candidate Vi Simpson talked about Governor candidate John Gregg’s bold proposal that Indiana must be a leader in making sure women earn Equal pay for Equal Work.  Simpson talked about the way to get Indiana’s economy moving is to make sure that the gap between what women and men earn is narrowed or eliminated.  Simpson talked about the Gregg/Simpson team’s goal of making sure women are harassed or victimized in the workplace.  And Simpson strongly condemned the plan by GOP Governor candidate Mike Pence to cut income taxes which could put K-12 education in Indiana at risk.
