Monica Brown, 34, has credited her mother with helping her form her relationship with God.
Monica, the singer, mother of three and wife to Miami Heat guard Shannon Brown, has been transparent about her Christian faith in the past. Now, she has honored her mother, Marilyn Best, in a new Instagram post.
“Every night I say my prayers and I thank God for choosing me to be the daughter of such a beautiful woman,” the singer wrote. “Through her I learn so much and I realize that because of her I know and love God, treat others the way I want to be treated and give all that I’ve got to my children.”
While the singer said she will aspire to become like her mother, she continued to count her blessings.
“The more people I meet the more I realize how blessed I am to have been reared and guided by YOU…,” she wrote. “As imperfect as I am I can see what’s great in me because of u.#AlwaysByMySide BestMotherEver #MarilynBest.”
