Today, many people, businesses, and organizations are celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. If you’re not sure how you can honor his memory, here are a few suggestions.
- Giving Something – You can have your bone marrow tested to see if you’re a match. More than 1 in 3 black people in the United States can’t find a marrow match.
- Learn Something – You can check out a documentary or visit a museum.
- Teach Something – Share what you know about Martin Luther King, Jr. with young relatives or mentees this week. Challenge their understanding of King’s legacy.
- Commit to Something – King was committed to a non-violent civil rights movement. Why not consider applying similar principles to your own community. How can you play a part in forcing change for the good of your community.
- Dream Something – Start dreaming now? And, begin working toward making that dream a reality.
