In local response, two Indiana Republicans chastise President Obama’s speech. Senator Dan Coats said the election last November rejected the president’s policies, yet he does not seem to get the message. Representative Marlin Stutzman added that Americans don’t want bigger government with bigger taxes and more laws. In Stutzman’s view, he said they seek conservative solutions that will let the economy grow.
Obama promised a veto for any bill that threatens to remove families’ health insurance or deregulate Wall Street.
