An exciting new opportunity to help a high school senior attend college or an institution of higher learning has been created by UNCF. It’s the UNCF/Honda Manufacturing of Indiana Scholarship Program. On Afternoons with Amos, Andrea Neely, Indiana UNCF Regional Development Director and Fred Payne, Department Manager, Corporate Affairs/Administration of Honda appeared to talk about the scholarship. Both institutions have come together to help UNCF’s mission of getting students to and through college. Honda’s also involved because they understand the importance of equipping students with the leadership and development tools necessary to be successful. Neely and Payne explained that the UNCF Honda Manufacturing of Indiana Scholarship Program is a High School Scholarship for graduating high school seniors enrolled in a Student Development and/or Youth Leadership Program like the Center for Leadership Development (CLD) or the 100 Black Men of Indiana. Eligible students MUST be residents of Indiana and show certification of enrollment or completion of a Student Development/Youth Leadership Program through organizations such as 100 Black Men of America – Indianapolis, Center for Leadership Development (CLD). Students must complete the online application, which includes an essay submission, copy of program certificate or letter from program organization, as well as most recent high school transcript.
