We’re in the midst of March Madness and brackets have been filled out everywhere, including in the White House. President Obama recently shared his prediction for who he believes will win the NCAA men’s basketball championship. His prediction? The president thinks Kentucky will go all the way this year. Obama has filled out a bracket every year since he took office and as a die-hard fan, he’s pretty knowledgeable about the sport. Last year, he finished in the 72.9 percentile for his bracket. Starbucks Campaign Sparks Awkward Debate on “All In with Chris Hayes”

Starbucks’ new “Race Together” campaign has been sparking heated debates about race relations within our country. During a segment on MSNBC’s “All In with Chris Hayes,” an exchange between Jay Smooth and “CBS Sunday Morning” contributor Nancy Giles went left. Smooth shared his discontent with the campaign, stating that it doesn’t help issues concerning white supremacy in America. The show rolled footage of a YouTube video that he created called, “How to Tell Someone They Sound Racist.” Giles made remarks about the video, saying that Smooth was trying to be “down with the people;” assuming that he wasn’t African-American. “It’s also interesting because I’m actually black, but you assumed otherwise,” he responded. “And this is the sort of awkwardness that we can look forward to at Starbucks across America.” Read more.


Mesa Shooting Suspect Captured

A former convict who has an extensive criminal past is allegedly responsible for shooting a man at a hotel in Mesa, Arizona and shooting and injuring five other people. Ryan Giroux was taken into custody by a Mesa SWAT team after a rigorous manhunt by four other law-enforcement agencies. John Giles, the mayor of Mesa, took to Twitter to share a statement about the shooting. “I would like to extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the shooting victims and their families … Mesa is a resilient community and part of a region that comes together in times of crisis,” he tweeted.
